The Akashic Records — the Inner Book That Remembers Every Experience

Some questions we carry for years. The Akashic Records are a quiet way to listen to those questions from deep within — not to predict the future, but to understand ourselves.

Has this ever happened to you?

You went somewhere for the first time. And yet — everything felt familiar. You met someone for the first time, and it felt as if you had known them for years. Or life keeps bringing you back to the same turning point. The same confusion. The same fear. The same question.

We call it coincidence and move on. But somewhere inside, a curiosity stays — where does all this come from?

The Akashic Records are one answer to that curiosity.

Akasha — the fifth element

In Indian philosophy, creation is made of five elements — earth, water, fire, air and akasha, or space. Of these, akasha is the most subtle. It can't be seen. Yet everything happens within it. Every sound, every movement, every event.

From this idea came a belief — that every experience leaves an imprint in akasha. Every thought. Every feeling. Every choice. Like a vast library, where each soul has its own book.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, writers connected with the Theosophical Society gave this the name "Akashic Records". Later, Edgar Cayce in America spoke of it again and again in his readings, and the term spread across the world.

Yoga philosophy says the same thing in another language. According to Patanjali, every experience leaves a samskara, an impression, in the mind. These impressions later become our habits. They become our nature. They become our direction.

The names are different. The idea is one — what has been lived is not erased. It stays recorded somewhere.

Reading the records — what actually happens?

It is worth clearing up one misunderstanding first.

Reading the Akashic Records is not fortune-telling. There is no magic in it, and no special power. It is a conversation, held through meditation and intuition — with a deeper part of yourself.

You come to a session with a question. Such as — "Why do I get stuck at the same place in every relationship?" or "Why does this work leave me empty inside?"

Then the mind is brought to stillness. The question is held with full attention. And whatever understanding rises — an image, a feeling, a sentence — we sit together and talk about it.

Often the answer isn't new at all. It's just — clearly seen for the first time. And once something is clearly seen, it becomes easier to walk with it.

What does science say?

To be straightforward — the Akashic Records can't be measured by any machine. They belong to faith and experience, not to the laboratory.

But science has noticed one thing. Our brain has a network called the Default Mode Network. It becomes active when we step back from outer tasks and turn inward. When we go into our memories. When we think about ourselves. When we piece our story together.

In fact, it is in a calm, settled mind that connections form which never form in the rush of the day. Perhaps that is why a question held in meditation often reveals what endless thinking does not.

Practice: opening your inner book

Even before a session, you can try this small practice at home.

Step 1: Choose a quiet place. Keep your phone away. Close your eyes and take a few deep, slow breaths.

Step 2: Imagine you are in a quiet library. In front of you is a book — your own book.

Step 3: Hold just one question in your mind. A question that truly matters to you.

Step 4: Let the book open at any page. Whatever comes — a word, a face, a memory, a feeling — simply watch it, without judging.

Step 5: Open your eyes and write down what you saw in a few lines.

No answer is right or wrong. Maybe nothing comes the first time. Maybe a lot comes. Both are fine. The book opens slowly.

The book is already with you

The Akashic Records are not a book kept somewhere far away. They are in your experiences. In your patterns. In the questions you have been carrying for years.

In Akashic Records sessions at Inner Architecture Lab, we sit together and read that same book — at your pace, with your question at the centre. No fear. No predictions. Just — seeing yourself a little more clearly.

The journey begins here.
